Esther Challenge - 2026

A City-Wide Call for International Women’s Day & Women’s History Month

The Esther Challenge is a city-wide initiative that encourages city movements, churches, organisations, and communities to reflect on how everyday choices affect the lives of women and girls.

The theme for this year’s Esther Challenge is “Give to Gain,” in line with International Women’s Day. This highlights the idea that real impact often requires intentional effort and commitment.

Observed throughout March, the initiative encourages churches and organisations to move beyond symbolic gestures and take meaningful action.

PRAY

Pray for women and girls. Ask God to strengthen their voices and guide the Church to stand with them.

CELEBRATE

REFLECT

Reflect on how women are treated around you. Ask what needs to change and where you can do better.

ACT

Take one clear step to support women and girls. Do something practical in your church or community.

Lasting progress often requires sacrifice.

Whether it is giving up silence, comfort, or convenience, change happens when people are willing to act for the common good.

Why “Give to Gain”?

The Esther Challenge invites participants to ask:

  • What might we need to give up to build more inclusive spaces?
  • What is God inviting us to give so that others may gain?
  • What could our communities gain if dignity and equity were prioritised?

Who Is This For?

The Esther Challenge is open to:

  • Churches and Christian Fellowships
  • City Movements
  • Youth Fellowships
  • NGOs
  • Marketplace Fellowships
